Getting started with Skype (iPhone)
Never used Skype on iPhone or iPod touch before? Don’t worry, it’s easy to get started.
All you need to do is:

Skype on your iPhone or iPod touch is free to download, just like Skype on your computer. To get Skype for your iPhone or iPod touch:
You’ll need at least 22.6MB of free memory space on your device to download the application, and your iPhone or iPod touch must be running iOS 4.3 or later.
Alternatively, we can send you an SMS text message with the download link.
Skype for iPhone is available in the following languages (based on your phone’s language setting): English, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish and Traditional Chinese.
If your phone is not set up in any of these languages, Skype will, by default, appear in English.
You can use your existing Skype account or you can create a new one on Skype for iPhone.
You’re now ready to start using Skype for iPhone. You can also use your account on any device that runs Skype – computer, mobile phone, tablet or TV.
Make sure that you’re connected to the internet through WiFi or 3G, and follow the steps below to sign in to Skype:
Alternatively, you can sign in with your Microsoft account.
You can now personalize your profile information and add your profile picture.
To edit your profile, at the bottom right of your screen, tap Profile > My Profile. You can then personalize your profile and edit the About Me section.
You can use personalized profile pictures on Skype for iPhone. Just tap Profile, then tap the camera icon in the top left corner of the screen.
You cannot use personalized ringtones on Skype for iPhone, you can only use the preloaded Skype ringtone.
